Still on cloud nine this morning after an absolutely magical weekend of dancing at the Raks Quebec festival! I’m coming home with two gold medals 🥇(and two crowns!! 👑) for my solo performances in the fusion and professional solo categories.

I signed up to push myself and work on my personal goals: improving my cha-cha and introducing the world of ballroom dancing to the oriental dance community 💃, while focusing on refinement, subtlety, and emotion in a more « less is more » style, compared to my usual show-off oriental performances. Mission accomplished! I was so happy to share this journey, and I’ve never felt so good on stage — no stress, no shaky legs, just fully enjoying the present moment. Huge thanks to my amazing coaches @jpmilot (for Latin) and @julia_farid (for oriental) for guiding me through this journey.

Big thanks to the @aqdo.ca and all the volunteers for an impeccably organized event and for every little word, smile, and encouragement backstage. It was pure joy seeing you all, and you truly made the event fabulous. 💫

Oh, I absolutely love this version of ‘Anda Aleik’ by Zouli Production! 🎶

I had the chance to create this choreography under the mentorship of @julia_farid through her @tips4hips_official program. Even though I’m used to choreographing, I always find it challenging when it’s for myself. I often feel it’s not good enough or complex enough, and I struggle with imposter syndrome. It can take me ages to complete, and sometimes I don’t finish at all. In contrast, I can complete a student’s choreography in just 2 hours and be satisfied with it. We had three months to work on this piece, and while I finished the first minute and a half in an hour, I ended up completing the rest just three days before the deadline! But I’m very grateful to Julia for this program, as I learned so much during these three months, even with my experience in choreographing. 💃✨

On n’a pas pu résister à l’envie de danser une petite rumba en apercevant ce plancher de danse vide. Seuls. Sans musique. Juste pour nous. J’aime filmer ces moments avec Julien pour les comparer dans 1 an, 2 ans, 5 ou même 10 ans si on danse toujours.

J’ai la chance que mon partenaire de danse soit aussi mon partenaire de vie. Même si on ne danse pas autant qu’on le souhaiterait, et que parfois, on ne se sent pas prêts pour les compétitions, on persévère. Combiner le travail, le trafic infernal de Montréal, la vie de famille avec notre petit Gaga de deux ans (qui adore nous lancer ses chaussettes pendant nos cours) n’est pas toujours facile. Mais on s’aime et on prend énormément de plaisir à partager ces moments! Je nous souhaite encore de nombreuses années à danser ensemble!

Here’s a little snippet of my performance (actually from the rehearsal) at last week’s @spectacle_ethereal_tribal show. A lot happened during the week, and I wasn’t even sure I could perform, so I’m glad it happened.

Thank you my dear @julia_farid and @tips4hips_official for the beautiful choreo! I really enjoyed learning and dancing it ❤️

Here’s a little snippet of my performance (actually from the rehearsal) at last week’s @spectacle_ethereal_tribal show. A lot happened during the week, and I wasn’t even sure I could perform, so I’m glad it happened.
